Charlie Amy Log Cabin
The tiny home of our first European settlers & their family!

Pioneer Quest - Reality Show (2000)
As one of the first reality TV shows, this program showed the experiences of two couples, living life as if it were 1875.
The show was filmed north of Argyle, Manitoba and the site was made possible by Charlie Amy. Due to his direct involvement and incredible volunteerism at the museum, the log cabin was after him in 2025.
Log Cabin
When European settlers first arrived here in the 1870s, their initial homes were made entirely of wood. Due to a lack of large trees in the local area, logs were imported, shaped and built in to small homes. Based on historic journal accounts, and descriptions of these early dwellings, the museum had this recreation structure built in 2024/25. It resembles a mix between that of Scottish and Ukrainian settler homes.
2019 - before the livery stable was moved to its current home at the museum's park.
